Nut flours such as walnut flour are especially popular in baking mixtures for bread, biscuits or muffins. During baking, the heat intensifies the nutty aroma of the flour, giving it a flavour very similar to that of toasted walnuts. As a gluten-free alternative to conventional flour, it enhances baked goods, smoothies and porridge. Unfortunately, nut flours on their own do not achieve the same effect as conventional wheat flour does. We recommend combining walnut flour with other types of gluten-free flour.
