The health benefits of avocado oil

Avocados, alongside olives, are among the fattiest fruit in the world. They are quite calorific, providing 140 calories and 15 grams of fat per 100 grams. But even though they pack a punch in the energy department, they offer a great deal of health benefits.

Avocado oil: brimming with fatty acids and vitamins

Avocado pulp oil consists of approximately 75% omega-9 fatty acids, the mono-unsaturated fatty acids.  Unlike the essential omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, the human body can produce omega-9 fatty acids by itself. Avocado oil nonetheless has an important place in our diets. It is rich in the liposoluble vitamins A, D and E and offers considerable health benefits.

Slimming down with avocado oil

We know it sounds absurd – but they say it works. The human body converts the oleic acid contained in avocado oil into a hormone that gives us the feeling of satiety. Consumed regularly, the oil can improve our blood sugar levels and prevent binge-eating. This can ultimately result in weight loss. Olive oil has a similar fatty-acid distribution and the same effect. Any healthy diet should include it. 

Avocado oil for beautiful skin

Avocado oil contains a whole package of vitamins: A, B, C, E and F. This makes it an ideal nourishing and moisturising component for lotions, ointments, soaps and haircare products. The oil is especially suitable for stressed, damaged and dry skin and hair.
